Amos Throop was a lifetime Universalist and he believed that God's love included all people. For him, a church should work to bring about a loving and inclusive world. In 1886, he gathered a group of people to found a Universalist church.
Throop Church, one of this area's very first congregations, continues that vision today. We proudly stand for a liberal, inclusive, and welcoming way of being religious in the face of increasing dogmatism and intolerance.
We serve the greater San Gabriel Valley.
We are joined with over 1000 congregations in the Unitarian Universalist Association. The covenant we share is known as our “Principles and Purposes.” |
